What is Previcur 840

  • Active ingredients: Propamocarb hydrochloride 47.3% + Fosetyl-aluminium 27.7%.

  • Formulation: Soluble concentrate (SL)

  • It is a systemic fungicide with both protective and curative action, particularly effective against soil-borne pathogens like Pythium, Phytophthora, and also certain downy mildew / blight diseases.

Target Diseases & Crops

Previcur 840 is used for controlling diseases such as:

  • Damping-off / seedling rot caused by Pythium spp. on seedlings of crops like eggplant, chili, tomato, long beans, mustard, tobacco, cucumber.

  • Downy mildew, Phytophthora blight on field crops.

  • In greenhouse / foliar application: used on tomato, pepper, cucumber for diseases like Bremia (in lettuce), downy mildews, etc.

Crops listed include: brinjal (eggplant), chilli, Chinese long bean, etc.

Application / Dosage Guidelines

These are general guidelines found in various product literature. Always adjust and confirm with your local label.

  • For seedling / nursery drench (to prevent damping-off): apply as a drench or soil treatment to the root zone, mixing Previcur 840 into water and applying around seedlings.

  • For foliar spray / soil drench in field crops: spray or drench so soil and roots receive treated solution; Previcur is systemic and moves into roots and shoots.

  • Spray intervals: in some cases, repeat treatments are allowed at intervals of 7–10 days depending on disease pressure.

  • It can be used in tank mixes with other fungicides, but is not compatible with Bordeaux mixture or certain foliar fertilizers.
