🧾 Definition / Product Overview

• Broadox® is an insecticide marketed by Agrichem / ACM in Malaysia. 

• It is a mixture insecticide formulated especially for use in paddy (rice) to control planthoppers (rice hoppers) — referred to in local sources as “bena-bena padi.” 

• The active ingredient is buprofezin, an insect growth regulator (IGR). 

• As an IGR, Broadox works by interfering with the development / moulting of insect nymphs, inhibiting their growth rather than causing immediate knock-down mortality.

• Broadox® is an insecticide used particularly in paddy (rice) cultivation, for controlling planthoppers (rice hoppers / “bena-bena padi”). 

• Its active ingredient is buprofezin, which is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). 

• As an IGR, Broadox interferes with the moulting / development of immature insects (nymphs), preventing them from reaching adulthood. 

• It does not act quickly as an immediate-knockdown toxin; rather it suppresses population growth over time by disrupting growth and reproduction.
